Indonesian P-51D 1950

<HISTORICAL>    <TX>

Works with all P-51.

Indonesia acquired some P-51Ds from the departing Netherlands East Indies Air Force in 1949 and 1950. The Mustangs were used against Commonwealth (RAF, RAAF and RNZAF) forces during the Indonesian confrontation in the early 1960s. The last time Mustangs were deployed for military purposes was a shipment of six Cavalier II Mustangs (without tip tanks) delivered to Indonesia in 1972–1973, which were replaced in 1976.

P-39K-1 USSR (Premium Aircraft)

<FICTIONAL> <TX & DMG>

Request by Slughorn for a P-39K-1 re-skin. Goal was to use a camo from CoD, add a Shark Mouth & Eyes and keep all the Nation markings.

ShowCaseShot.jpg

Skin was a Request and will be sent to Slughorn.

Curtiss-Wright P-40 Warhawk

'Checker-Tail Tigershark'

<SEMI-HISTORICAL><TX & DMG>

This is a Personal Skin inspried by the "Checker-tail Shark" camo in WT. Lost of Stress, frustration, and joy went into making this one.  For the exeption of the base template generated by the game everything on the plane was done by hand.  Custom generated camo, Hand painted Mouth and eyes, lots of tweeks and editing to remove *most* of the seam lines.  The only remaing oddities are in some of the checker pattern on the tail but it looks satisfactory to me.  The star emblem and the logo on the Prop blades were recreated by hand using basic shapes, the only exceptions are the carefully selected text choices and the USA flag on the bottom is a found royalty free image.

I made Friedrich Eberle's Bf 109G-6 seen in a picture December of 1943. Later it was captured on video from a gun-camera of an allied fighter.

<P-51D, Tuskegee Airmen, June 1944.>

<SEMI-HISTORICAL> <TX>

A basic P-51D Tuskegee Airmen skin I made, took me around 45 mins to make (mainly because I had no idea what I was doing  :secret:  ). I will upload the textures if there's any demand, but there's no damaged texture, as I have no idea how to make one...

F4F-4, VF-3, LCDR John Thach, Battle of Midway, June 4 1942

<HISTORICAL> <TX & DMG>

Lieutenant Commander Thach and Fighting Squadron Three flew from Lexington (CV-2) in the early part of World War II, and was assigned to Yorktown (CV-5) during the Battle of Midway in June 1942.

On the morning of June 4, 1942, Thach led a six-plane sortie from VF-3, escorting a strike from Yorktown, when they discovered the main Japanese carrier fleet. They were immediately attacked by 15 to 20 Japanese fighters. Thach decided to use his namesake maneuver, marking its first combat usage. Although outnumbered and outmaneuvered, Thach managed to shoot down three Zeros and a wingman accounted for another, at the cost of one Wildcat.

F8F-1B - Rare Bear

<HISTORICAL> <TX & DMG>

This is one of many paint schemes the Rare Bear has featured in its 50+ year long lifetime. The Rare Bear is one of the fastest prop driven aircrafts ever built, competing in many air races in its long career. In the 2009 Reno Air Races she placed 2nd with a speed of 479.088 mph (770.8 km/h). I made it over the course of a few hours yesterday and this morning. I personally think this is the best paint scheme the Rare Bear has featured, as I like a minimalist approach to a lot of things. I did not add the sponsers she usually sported, as I felt they were a blemish.

The higher resolution takes a little longer to load, but the lines are less aliased so it looks better.
