Warthunder Logging Utility for FlightModel-Testing

Juliett_Six YOUR THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WT devs can use the *cvs data so that they can easier fix things!!!

Thank you. I am pretty sure the flight model team has tools to their disposal, they are only not available to the public.

bump

i thought this got pinned!

Got unpinned half an hour later.

Thats weird, using Windows 8 (without the .1) Pro 64 bit as well.

If it displays any more information ill take them, otherwise your CPU name might help

That's the windows error event:

The program or feature "\??\B:\_Utility\WT_Logger_v0.12_Release.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

Update 0.13

  • Added documentation
  • License Check only when you run a new version for the first time
  • Setting to use either dots or commas as seperators for integer and decimal parts
  • All numbers now rounded to at least two digits
  • Since there were problems with the program not running under certain conditions, i have created different versions for 32 and 64 bit

Cheers, chaps  :salute:

Strangely enough the 32 bit version works on my 64bit i7 with 64bit Windows 8.1 while the 64bit version does not.  :dntknw:
Since 64bit is clearly not needed anyways thank you very much for fixing the problem for me :salute: .

I already use it in bugreports.

It is too late to bury it, and I will defend it with my own chest :)

Take care JuliettSix.

wtf? why would this totaly usefull thing get unpinned?

unless...someone trying to burry it?

Well

  • its a closed source project, they might want to distance themselves legally from it just in case something happens (someone blames it for data loss or a virus they got)
If they pin it on the forums they can't deny knowledge of it and at least it seems like they endorse it. (Wargaming had/has a similar policy, officially some addons break eula but are tolerated anyways)
  • They are working on something similar (I think I've read something about it)
  • They don't want people to actually show how many planes are actually badly modeled  :Ps

Actually now that i think about it makes a lot of sense. .Net 2.0 is from 2005? IIRC correctly, where the two main processor types were x86 intel compatible and x64 amd compatible processors. Both processors used a Northbridge (thing that connects RAM). So in theory, both versions should not run on your sandy/ivy-bridge Intel-i 3/5/7 Processor. However, all Intel PC processors are capable of running x86-code for reasons of compitability. So thats why you can only run 32-bit, while my older 64-bit processor with a northbridge can run both codes.

If they were to disable the Map-Interface in 1.39 i would be inclined to believe your burying-theory.

For now i just think they dont wanna face a flood of flight-tests and reports, of which maybe half are done in a wrong way.

Plus Freaks argument sum it up pretty nicely, although i would like to see a link to that thing they are working on :Ds

ok i got my little test drive done. very nice little tool.

behold the amazing climb rate of the P-38G!

IDwjv8o.jpg

time is in seconds btw.

10k ft (3km) in an astounding 3 mins and 40 seconds.

thanks for the tool!

Hizzah, that means it only climbs a full 50 seconds too slowly! lol

This thing will wreck kids so hard once it gets fixed... if it gets fixed.

well im thinking about using this tool to some data on the current status of some aircraft engines, but im not very good at creating graphs.... anyone got some pointers on how to use this data to create some nice clean graphs?

its actually a little faster than i previously thought when i did the test by hand (when I did it by hand it was a whole min too slow). this tool is much easier, faster and more accurate.

Is this able to record data from multi-engined aircraft? The data I'm pulling from the Hs 129 B-3 shows HP of around 600 but the combined output should be 1400 HP

Welp its recording data for engine 1.

So you get the horsepowers of engine 1. If your aircraft has more engines multiply it by the number of engines.

Got it.

I do have another question though. I am trying to record data for various jet engines but I am receiving an abnormally large power number which isn't making any sense, is there a way to get the lbf thrust (or kN) pulled from the game?

The tool seems to be grabbing HP values from the web interface for jets instead of thrust values. Maybe add an option in the tool to specify thrust(jets), horsepower (pistons) or both (turboprops and motorjets if they are ever included)?

I tried downloading the 0.13 64bit and my anti-virus flagged it as a threat (even though i'm pretty sure its not).

the 32bit version downloads fine though.

I love it. though it does strange things to my altitude sometimes. when i did the bearcat today it reset every 10k ft (which kinda threw me off a bit) and when i did the 185 it didn't move past the double digits. works most of the time though.

will there be an option to use "Hg or lb/in2 instead of atm sometime in the future?

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok, kinda have to ask, as I didn't find it (in thread / program).

Implemented recording of engine heat?

As logging the oil temperature for e.g. FW 190-A5, it shows a decline in OIL temperature during climb tests, but the ingame HUD shown engine temp was increasing.

Did I miss a option or tag?

Kind regards, awesome program, and running on Win XP with a slow computer, no impact on FPS on test flight while acquiring data every second.

Wow, guess I won't have to learn libcurl or anything now.

Great work, we will be able to get a lot of data faster now.

Maybe someone should make a guide so everyone can test their aircraft with the correct settings...

Which section?

Damn, this forum is a mess. Between the Academy, the General Discussion, the Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles sections, the individual nations' aviation sections and the Aircraft Discussion, it's a bit hard to find something.
