How does everybody not know how an F-82 works?

The normal setup would be the second pilot/navigator in the left cockpit and the first pilot in the right. The first pilot takes off and flies to the combat zone, with help from the navigator. Then he "hands over" the aircraft to the second pilot by locking his stick and the second pilot unlocks his. This is in case one of them accidentally bumps the stick with his leg or something like that. The second pilot flies in the bomber formation and/or engages enemy aircraft. When its time to return home they do the aforementioned "hand over" so the first pilot flies it home.

Oh goodie, another experimental aircraft and not actual FM/DM fixes for the US.

Huzzah.

/sarcasm. :beee:

You can toss that and leave this alone. It was not experimental otherwise it would be the XF-82. It's the F-82, came too late to see action in WW2 but served in Korea as a ground attack and night fighter. My grandpa actually owns half of one. My uncle owns the other half.

Yea, unfortunately my uncle's son burnt down my grandpa's farm, and the shed where they kept it. So they technically own it but its mostly charred and bent metal. The instruments survived but that's mostly it.

270 total planes produced does not fill me with a ton of confidence in it's non-experimental-ness. Yeah, it's not experimental in it was actually produced, but it's not exactly mass produced either. Hell, the F7F Tigercat had 364 units produced. The B-25H, the B-25 variant with up to 8 forward mounted .50 cals and 1 75mm howitzer with 21 shots had 1000 total units produced.

In the end, we don't need new planes, we need fixed planes.
