  1. HELL NO 1. The spawn requirements for aircraft in GF are already absurdly high, so no. 2. If any non-russian aircraft has unrealistic payload in WT, then its payload is much smaller than historical, so no. 3. Raising BR won't help here, it will still fly like a UFO, while it could not in reality.
  2. axiom

WHEN IS THE NEXT CEC EVENT Seriously, do I really need a working microphone to join in? If not, I'd come
  3. Please add the following files and information to your opening post: 1. Hardware configuration of your MAC (OS Version, CPU, GPU, RAM, MAC Model). How to find the information can be found here. The same as always OS X 10.9.5 2,26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 MacBook Pro 13-inch, Mid 2009 2. A detailed description of the issue you have encountered. It is also important that you describe how we can reproduce the issue, if you are able to reproduce it. As in title, the "Open cockpit" control setting doesn't work for lots of planes. I checked only a few, but this affects many more aircraft, probably most planes in WT lack this feature, even though lots of WW2 aircraft had in the pilot manual landing check-list written "Open cockpit canopy". 3. If applicable, an attached screenshot showing the issue, as well the client replay file and the server replay. Screenshot of settings attached, replay not applicable (everything was in test flight) 4. Attach the Client Log (extension *.clog) of the session in which the error occurred (sort by date). If the problem is persistent, attach the latest one available. Can be found in: /My Games/WarThunder/_game_logs/ I CAN'T GIVE LOGS ANYMORE AS MY WHOLE ATTACHMENT SPACE IS FILLED WITH BUG REPORT FILES, so no more logs until at least one bug I reported gets fixed

Giving the current unique textures to every cockpit there is in war thunder was surely much more work...
  5. Unfortunately this map is not seen in normal battles (or at least I have never seen it), but it's obviously available in custom battles, which is nice. Here you go: An oil leak can be really dangerous even when the engine wasn't damaged before as there is over 80 kilometers (50 miles/43 nautical miles) between the airfields, so gliding back to base is often impossible. In real life, pilots of aircraft that used a single liquid-cooled engine (notably P-51D) flew long range missions bearing the knowledge that a hit in their radiator over enemy territory meant they would die or get captured, but in WT, Air RB maps are enough small that an oil leak can easily be managed if you are high enough, or start climbing while heading to base as soon as you become safe from enemy fire. Escorting friendly bombers is encouraged even if the bombers use their air spawn, because the bombers can climb and slowly proceed to target, while escort fighters quickly climb and join up with the bombers. Fighters have time to climb above the bombers before they arrive at bombing points, so there is less of an issue with BV238/B17/B29/Tu4 spam, which means that stupid changes in gameplay such as restricting the number of bombers in a match could be reverted on this map. Bombers are encouraged to climb, and they would most likely do so even if they had their air spawns removed. Slow climbing, heavily armed and armored interceptor aircraft (all heavy/night fighters, early variant Fw-190), can get to bomber altitudes in time even if they would be taken away their air-spawns. Smart planning of a bomber attack from the side can surprise the enemy (especially with shorter marking range of RB, or no markers like in SB), because the map is so big that even AB spotting doesn't cover it entirely. The very short ranged Me 163/Ki-200 have usefulness issues just like IRL, although they can be good for intercepting anything that dares coming close enough to base.

It is also important that you describe how we can reproduce the issue, if you are able to reproduce it. In game, it is possible to extend the F4F-3 Wildcat and F4F-4 Wildcat landing flaps at any speed and they get ripped off if the speed is too high. However, the "Pilot's Handbook for Model F4F-4 Airplane" says that something else should happen. Direct quote from page 24 of the handbook: "There is no danger in opening the flap operating valve at high speeds. The flaps will not come down at speeds in excess of 130 knots.". Suggested solution to the problem is to make it impossible for the flaps to extend fully to landing position at speeds higher than 130 knots, and if such a speed is reached while diving after extending the flaps, they should retract to the takeoff position. Link to pilot's handbook: https://www.spruemaster.com/blog/wp-content/gallery/manual/Pilot's Handbook for Model F4F-4 Engine R-1830-86.pdf 3. If applicable, an attached screenshot showing the issue, as well the client replay file and the server replay. Screenshots attached, replay shouldn't be needed (and it was done in test flight so I don't have a replay). 4. 7. Let's implement those changes gradually, so that we don't suddenly get an aircraft with useless performance, but also that the BR decrease won't over-compensate it. For the beggining I think it should have bomb load fixed to 8000kg.
  8. Current situation: Right now, cockpit instruments use almost exclusively (probably entirely exclusively, but I couldn't check every single aircraft in-game) raster graphic textures for inscriptions on them. The problem: Unfortunately, some of these textures look very bad in ULQ (Ultra Low Quality), and many important inscriptions are unreadable, as shown on the picture below. Of course you could just increase texture quality, but that's not a good solution - cockpits with higher instrument texture quality (in ULQ) already leave a big performance footprint on weaker machines that need to use ULQ to play with reasonable frame-rate. Solution: It's very simple. Today, fonts (and many other objects) on websites and most computer programs are not raster textures - they're made with vector graphics. So why not implement that in war thunder cockpit instruments? Pros: - Quality of vector fonts is limited only by their final size on the screen. - Vector fonts have a much lower impact on performance than textures with high enough resolution to be useful. - If standard fonts are used wherever possible, creating new cockpit instruments will be much easier. Cons: - Some parts of some cokpit instruments might be impossible to make this way, but they can use textures if needed.

  10. We should prepare for 9.3 jets to be added!
  11. Is there any posibility to make wheel brakes on aircraft toggleable? So that when I first press the brake button, the brakes are enabled, and will stay enabled until I press the same button again?

How can a british tank without APHE ever be any better than its competition? Well, HESH has recently been nerfed into the ground (without proof in the form of sekrit dokumintz ofc), so that falls out...

  14. Well, in War Thunder at least, most aircraft are capable of emergency belly landing on a static carrier without gear/flaps/hook/guns (usable to slow down with recoil), and the F4U seems to be an exception.
  15. Will this thread ever get passed to developers? 2017_04_18_19_35_21__2672.clog 2017_04_18_19_34_47_2667.log

  17. @KillaKiwi: "I'm all for that. Let the reign of German APCR commence :3" Some random Ace: german apcr op Joseph: How can German APCR be better than our ammunition?! Change that immediately, the people can't know!!
  18. no russian planes here so no comparison We're talking about NS-23 on La-9, not VYa-23 on Il-2 sekrit dokumintz say shfak is better in war thunder moar sekrit dokumintz say hispano is better irl
  19. In WT, the F4U sure doesn't like clean belly landings - landings made with gear and flaps and hook inactive (which can be needed when they are destroyed), and without using guns for slow-down (because they might be out of ammo, and also using them might damage something in front of the airfield/carrier). Is there any historical documentation of what happens to a F4U in a belly landing, preferably without flaps?
  20. So what is the huge fireball (or fireball-like thing) visible on the plane for a second or two before it goes out of the picture? Fireballs from the incendiary bullets themselves (if they don't cause a bigger fire) disappear after less than a second, and aren't that big. And there is visible smoke, and with such turning rates and a clearly low altitude, the shooting must have happened at a not that fast speed, so the small amount of change in the fire's shape (from a sphere to some stretched shape) is nothing strange.
  21. Nope, obtaining a lot of points doesn't guarentee a proportionally high income or RP. As you can see most of your points can be seen from 2 different perspectives: tanking the shots or not getting hit, placing a precise shot on a mg hatch or flanking an enemy etc etc. Anyway I agree that the points given for being shot are too many Nope, obtaining a lot of points with enough battle activity does guarantee you get a proportionally high income and RP. Problem is that if the enemy tank is unable to do serious damage to you, getting hit gives you higher score than not getting hit, which is kinda dumb isn't it?
  22. 1. How could you see sparks in there without seeing the fire that appeared a second after the first hit? 2. Where did I say that HE (the guy in the video posted by @BrassWolf) didn't do any damage?
  23. Except that he made far more hits than a real pilot had to do, and that even such a pathetic amount of damage is completely inconsistent and very often you make hundreds of hits without any damage?
  24. looks like both HESH shots ricocheted
  25. sekrit dokumintz Hold on... If you look at the videos, lots of those bullets fired are misses, and the few hits gained on various enemy aircraft very often set the opponent in flames, or rekt his wing, or some other noticeable damage. For war thunder's 50cal (in)effectiveness, just play the game with any aircraft armed with that weapon and see how you have almost no of the historical ability to wreck things.
  26. It's not caused by the 3mm difference, it's caused by the nation, and it somehow happens that Russia, the country that WT comes from, is located in a similar area as Soviet Union was a long time ago, so all the Soviet shtuff HAS to be best in the world in WT. Example: Russian ShVAK guns in-game are far superior to Hispano (on stat cards they're not, but in game they are) even though it's a known fact that reality is the opposite. Reason: RUSSIAN BIAS (which is a short name for what is explained above) The only way to counter the La-9 without creating bias is playing a game about aircraft/tanks/ships that comes from a country which was completely neutral in WW2 (+probably also has to be a country that was not used as a battlefield in WW2, cuz then it might cause "anti-everything bias"). (seriously, all the tips given after you gave the replay are good and explain many of your mistakes) .wrpl is a format used by war thunder's replays. Look here for help (just go into Replays folder on 2:15): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GoCerKhdgw Assuming you know how to view replays in-game?
  27. Well, for logic, any shot that creates a hole in the oil system is likely to cause a leak, unless some force prevents oil from going out through that hole (although oil could be under high pressure, so maybe it gets pushed out anyway).
  28. Please add the following files and information to your opening post: 1. Hardware configuration of your MAC (OS Version, CPU, GPU, RAM, MAC Model). How to find the information can be found here. It is also important that you describe how we can reproduce the issue, if you are able to reproduce it. The rocket pods on the P-39N-0 have hitboxes larger than they should be (enough to protect the propeller from breaking) and somehow don't break during landings. To reproduce, just take a P-39N-0 with the M8 rockets and try to land it without gear. 3. If applicable, an attached screenshot showing the issue, as well the client replay file and the server replay. Screenshot attached. 4. 29. I started to wonder, why is an oil leak or overheating such a serious issue, and does the war thunder way of modelling it have any relationship to real life? Oil leak shouldn't be a big problem: engine oil is used for lubricating, but why should an engine completely stop working due to having no lubricant? An engine must be far more powerful than shaft friction (friction on non-oiled engine), I don't understand how having no oil could give any problem big enough to stop the engine. Of course it slowly damages the engine, but shouldn't that happen in hours of operation, instead of minutes? Also for engine overheating, according to War Thunder, piston engines overheat at somewhere between 250*C-300*C, that's well below the temperature at which the materials used in engine construction lose hardness? So why does it cause damage that can completely stop an engine?
  30. To make the report valid and useful, the initial post MUST contain: 1. A detailed description of the issue you have. Please describe how we can reproduce the issue. There is no "pilot knocked out" message, the aircraft is entirely intact, but there still is a message "Player credited for kill: xyz" after one enemy shot. I think that aircraft are never destroyed without a reason, but this time I got killed without a reason given. I was in a Il-2 (1942) and the enemy was a Fw 190 A-1, but I have seen this issue happen with various aircrafts. The bug sometimes happens, sometimes not, this seems to be completely random. Reproduction steps: 1. Get killed with a bit of luck (the bug doesn't always happen). 2. Look at your completely intact aircraft and the fact that there is no "pilot knocked out" message 2. An attached screenshot. Attached. 3. Attached game logs. Gaming logs could be found as: /My Games/WarThunder/_game_logs/ Attached. 4. Attached .crash file: There was no crash, I exited the game normally. /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ /Users/User Name/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ /Users/User Name/WarThunderLauncherLogs/ 5.
