  1. Salut! I'm sorry but this is the wrong section for this. I suggest the Squadrons section if you would like to join or recruit for a squadron. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  2. Salut! Welcome to War Thunder and the Forums! I recommend going for something that fits your play-style. Like for example, I love bombers and attackers so I got the Boeing B-29 Superfortress and Douglas AD-2 Skyraider! Each country has their own unique play-style for aircraft. The Air Force Academy is the place to look if you would like to find some tutorials or tips on how to play each country's aircraft type. Don't be afraid to ask your fellow pilots in-game about how they recommend to fly certain aircraft, either! The community is very helpful and I'm sure they would gladly help and teach you. See you in the skies! Happy flying! ~Keebird
  3. Salut! Welcome to War Thunder and the Forums! Since you're big on Ground Forces in War Thunder, I suggest The Army Academy section if you need any tutorials or tips on how to take out those pesky Sherman Fireflies! Keep your grind up and you'll soon have that Leopard A1A1 or T-10M in no time! I also suggest watching some YouTube tutorials of Ground Forces on, for example, taking out long range targets or how to win a corner fight. See you on the battlefield, commander! If you're in need of a squadron, check here. Just make sure you meet their requirements, if they have any, before applying. Battling with friends is much better than battling alone! Happy tanking! ~Keebird
  4. Salut! Welcome to the War Thunder Forums! Just like The Air Force Academy Elite linked, the main Academy section is chock full of other tutorials and tricks to help you defeat those aces both in the skies and on the battlefield. Never doubt your skills even though the other pilot has a jet, remember it's the pilot not the plane. I would suggest taking your aircraft of choice into a private CB and practicing on AI aircraft. I hope everything goes well with your duel! See you in the skies! Happy flying! ~Keebird
  5. Salut! Welcome to War Thunder and the Forums! I would recommend using a keyboard and mouse for playing if you want the same-ish experience as PC players combat wise. I do not own a PS4, so my knowledge on the UI for it is limited to what I know from friends who do play it. I do not know how the whole hardware works with keyboards and mouses, sorry. I would check The Academy and see if anything can be found there about combat with a controller, or alternatively check the PS4 threads here. I would also ask fellow PS4 players on how their set up is and how they (if they do) dogfight effectively with a controller if you don't have access to a keyboard and mouse. I hope you get everything set up and working like you want, it's not nice having an ace sitting on the ground! See you in the skies! Happy flying! ~Keebird
  6. Salut! As you go through the research tree, you will find you need a certain amount of aircraft/tanks to get to the next vehicle. That is something fairly new, mind you, as in the early days of War Thunder you had a rank system. Where you would play the game normally then once you reach a certain rank you can get the next aircraft. This was changed to what we have now since a lot of players were getting Sabres and MiGs way too quickly. The research tree is...odd, to say the least. Like @Barry100 showed, and I stated beforehand, you have to research a certain number of vehicles to advance to the next rank (in your case rank V). I can understand it's frustrating, trust me! All you can really do it keep grinding to the aircraft or tank you want, trust me it pays off. Don't forget to check drop-down folders to see if you missed an aircraft or tanks. Premium/Gift vehicles also count towards your next rank, as well. Plus they're just so dang fun to collect! I hope your grinding goes well and you get the aircraft you're going for! Here's a post I found, albeit dated years ago, but it details researching new aircraft. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  7. Salut! Welcome back to the posting life! Happy flying! ~Keebird
  8. Salut! Welcome to War Thunder and the Forums! A lot of good pilots and tankers above me have given you, in my honest opinion, good advice and things to look at! The Academy is a place I would like to recommend, as well. It's a place chock full of tutorials, tips, and tricks from fellow aviators and tank commanders. Squadrons can be found here, they allow you to squad up with your fellow members and wreak havoc among the enemy teams! Just make sure you meet their requirements, if they have any, before applying. Never be afraid to ask other players about their tricks on taking out the enemy effectively. We all welcome questions from new, and experienced, players and the community is very helpful. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  9. Salut! Welcome to the Forums! Like @TheElite96, I am also a 2013 player! Check out The Academy for some neat tutorials and tips from your fellow pilots and tankers. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  10. Salut! Welcome to the War Thunder Forum! If you would like some tutorials or want to teach someone your own tricks on the battlefield, check out The Academy. Suggestions can be found here, and if you'd like to make a suggestion for a tank or aircraft you'd like to see in game make one! Just make sure: It hasn't already been suggested. You follow the guidelines before posting. Don't be afraid to ask fellow forum members or in game pilots, tankers, and captains (Soon™) about their tricks and tips on how they defeat the enemy. If you're looking for a squadron, check here. Squadrons allow you to squad up with your fellow squad mates and bring your team to victory time and time again! Make sure you meet their requirements, if they have any, before applying. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  11. Salut! Welcome! That's uhm...one way to introduce yourself for sure! If you have any questions or need some tutorials, check out The Academy. Happy flying! ~Keebird
  12. Salut! Welcome to War Thunder and the Forums! Like stated above, Arcade is the perfect place to begin! A lot of us long-time players started there before moving on to things like Realistic Battles or Simulator Battles. If you have any questions about things in game, like how to hit angled targets effectively or just want to learn some new tricks, check out The Academy! Loads of people would be happy to help you out if you have any questions or problems. If it's a squadron you're looking for, here is the place for you to look. They allow you to squad up with your fellow members and rake in victory after victory, tearing apart IS-2s and Tiger H1s with ease and flanking those Jagdtigers giving your team a hard time. Just be sure you meet their requirements, if they have any, before applying. Happy flying! ~Keebird
