So YB-40 aka B-17 Gunship

No bombs

But has were the radio gun is with another dorsal gun turret 2 50cals on each waist gun point and a chin turret

I think interesting for 1.35 tiers T11 or T3 for 1.37

Opinions?

And I have not found anything about this before and or on the tech tree

There is quite a few threads down in the USA technical service section on this plane. About three or four recently.

If you would like me to answer relatively quickly, or at all, please quote my post. I capitalize for emphasis.

It serves no real use, but I'd love to see it. I think clans that practice bombing doctrine would go ape floral for it.

The wiki says it was meant to be a bomber escort (18+ .50 cals with 10,000+ ammo) but temporary until the mustangs came in, it is a b-17 but without bombs so it would die faster than the b-17 we already have, if it had 20mm I would be interested but I don't think it would help our situation.

Best tactic in B-17's is to fly a good formation.

the thing also flew worse than a fully loaded b-17, so your climb rate would suck and you'd probably be a sitting duck 90% of the time, and not the german kind either. it would be fun though, especially low level strafing of ground targets. if they included it, the cost of purchase/training would have to be low, as well as the repair costs.

I heard it only flew worse after the completion of the bomb run, where as it was to heavy to keep up with the rest.
