This Starter kit includes:

• The access to the Closed Open Beta version.
• Two airplanes: XP-38G, A6M5 Ko.
• Two single player campaigns:
  USA Pacific Campaign (1941-1943)
  Japanese Pacific Campaign (1941-1943)
• Premium account for a month.
• 5000 Golden Eagles (if you buy the 49.99 bundle) or 1700 Golden Eagles (if you buy the 19.99 bundle ingame),

 

 

The XP-38G is a rank 11 plane.

 

Beside that, you only have USA reserve planes in your hangar, P-26A-33, P-26B-35 and P-26A-34 M2 when you start.

 

If you put the XP-38G into service and go to battle with your 3 reserve planes and this rank 11 plane you are thrown into matches against other high rank planes like jets 'n stuff.

 

Your reserve planes are pretty much useless there, and the XP-38G has an unfinished Flight Model, it basically handles like a pregnant sow...

 

So - if you don't want lose each and every battle you can't use your XP-38G until you have reached a higher rank and can send other high rank planes into battle...

 

Cool stuff, your gift plane no. 1 is basically totally useless. (until you have reached a higher rank and the Flight Model is fixed, no idea when this will happen)

 

There is no warning in the store or ingame store that the Flight model isn't finished or that it doesn't make sense to "mix" this plane with your reserve planes, you have to find this out on your own...

The A6M5 Ko is a rank 12 plane.

 

Since it doesn't make any sense to mix it with my japanese reserve planes, I havent even flown it yet....cool "starter" plane though, looks nice doing nothing in my hangar....

Now for the campaigns...

 

10 missions each - wow.

 

I have only played through the USA campaign so far, most of the missions are quite silly imho.

 

For example "The Two against thirty-nine"...

 

2 Fighters vs 39 bombers with fighter-escort....just silly.

 

You have to down lots of bombers while dodging the escorting fighters...I made it, but it seemed pretty unrealistic to me...

 

All in all I'm not really impressed with the campaigns.

Golden Eagles - they really help in getting good pilots for your planes.

The gift planes are absolutely useless for starters.

 

The campaigns are short and the missions seem pretty silly to me.

 

Only good thing is the premium account and the golden eagles.

 

But you don't need the campaign bundles to get these.

I would not agree with you there. I found campaigns interesting and fresh change from other activities in game. Both planes you get are good and a bit different than what you have in regular tree. Once you get to that level with other planes these two are going to be very useful.

 

So, I would not go so far to say "the Japanese and USA Pacific campaigns bundle is not worth buying (atm)". I would rather say that it really goes to personal preferences.

 

I do hope you enjoy game and have good fun with it.

I'm just disappointed that I can't use the gift planes atm, and that the FM for the XP-38G isn't finished.

I really doesn't feel like flying a fighter, more like driving a truck with wings.

That might be worth to think about. I recommend you to take that idea to "suggestions" part of forum and who knows, we might get nice starter pack for starters :)

Question-

What kind of xp do you get for doing the campaign? and can you repeat the missions for the same xp or is it a one shot deal like the Dynamic Campaign ingame?

You can play each mission as often as you like, but you get exp and lions only for the first success on each difficulty level. (simplified / realistic / simulator)

 

per mission you get:

 

6000 exp + 1500 lions on simplified setting

3000 exp + 850 lions on realistic setting

3000 exp + 850 lions on simulator setting

 

So you can get 120.000 exp + 30.000 lions if you win all the missions on all difficulty settings for the USA campaign, same for the japanese campaign.

The A6M5 Ko is actually a very nice plane.

Low ranked Starterkit-Planes wouldn't be worth it, cause you'll level them out very fast and can't gather anymore exp in it. Should be much cheaper then, or more airplanes ( like Chaika + Ishak + X) for an upcoming russian campaign for example.

+1 for the Ko Reisen being amazing.  You can fly it with a whole bunch of tier 0's to 'powerlevel' you with its amazing xp gain as it completely chews up anything in a turn fight. 

 

Imo, this is a great deal as it's like the dora starter pack, except you get the reisen instead of the dora.  Granted the dora's a better plane under most conditions, but if you wanted to go japanese, this pack's amazing as it gives you two campaigns for 'free'.  

 

Just don't mention the P38...

I bought it for $19.99 in late august. 

The campaign was shorter than i excepted, and i had a feeling that they just did it quick to show something. Some mission was very strange for me, it had a feeling that i playing short storys form a comic. And some mission was very frustrating, some mission bugged.

On the other side it was interesting, i liked the video scenes.

The A6M5 is a very good fighter and i enjoyed it from the beginning. In HB can make huge amount of lion and XP. I was not forced to play low level planes, against 10+ tiers in HB.

The XP+38G is a strange plane, hard to controll and lack of FM, but if i use it in the right role it is a very thankful plane. The nose mounted cannon and guns have great firepower. Hunting bombers or ground units is a very easy job with it. It have very low repair cost, and great xp and lions reward.

 

I think the pack wort its prize, the airplanes more, the campaign less. With the free eagles i can buy a third premium plane too.

It was much cheaper and more usable than WG offers in WOT.

Been looking into this myself as ive been playing the game a few days now and im wanting a starter pack to get me going.  Im not buying it cos im looking for some prem planes to fly to make loads of lions and xp im accually buying it as a pack for campaigns prem account and the 1700 gold the planes i look as a bonus but reading the post i think i might just bite the bullet and go for it as even if it aint good least im helping the company out with the game :D

Ok, I did it. Bought the Ultra starter. It is true, the campaign is very short. You will be done with it in a couple days of casual play. The missions vary from absurdly easy (Bomb a single target as it sits still in the water) to absurdly hard (4 small fighters against thirty big bombers with escort). Getting a lot of premium planes that are exclusive to the package is cool, but only if you plan on playing them. I wont be playing all the nations. Pretty much just three. The other planes are a bit of a waste. Also, one medium sized plane in a nation will not get you very far. If you are going to fly randoms, you need a whole line up, so you will have to grind the nation up to meet the level of the premium plane.

 

You get 10k gold in the package. If you are wondering how far the gold can be stretched, I purchased all the slots available in one nation (all 9), and buffed the crews of 5 slots pretty handsomely. They are flyable. To get the last 4 slots buffed, round out some last details on the previous crews, and pick up an extra pemium plane or two, you will need just as many gold again in a new purchase.But for one nation, 20k gold will put you in a really sweet spot. Your tail gunners can hit stuff, and you dont pass out when you hit some turbulance.

 

Im not saying I regret the purchase, but honestly, its better for people who want to do a lot of nations, and arent picky about the scripting of missions.

 If you are going to fly randoms, you need a whole line up, so you will have to grind the nation up to meet the level of the premium plane.

 

If you are flying HB, the ultrapack gives you the opportunity to have one flyable plane for every nation. (Hm not russia but they have some cheap prem-planes)

And Crew on that slot is going to levbel a lot faster without spending money on crew training.

I am still trying to figure out how to Download the extra campaigns, I looked on the website and it shows NO TRANSAACTIONS. Darned if I can figure out how to play what I paid for??? Any Help?

did you made your purchase in-game or via website? i made my purchase in-game no need to download, you can immediately see historical missions unlock in menu, and the free plane ready for crew training. i think you just have to wait for an hour, maybe there's a delay in the global server.

First off you shouldn't put the premium plane into service with the starter planes. Its best if you hold off until you are at a higher rank where some of your other planes will be matched more favorably. (Which makes buying the bundle kind of useless as you said unless your at a lvl where you can field a full roster of high tier planes).The Match maker goes by your highest tier plane. So essentially if you put a tier 11 plane into play with only the reserves as backup your kinda handicapping yourself from the beginning with only one tier 11 plane. Now if it had a proper flight model this may not be as bad. But as is its highly likely you will get shot down in the P-38 and be left with tier 1 reserves to fight against other tier 11 planes. This is arcade of course and you could always fly it in historical or full real battles where you are limited to one plane to start with.

As far as the incomplete flight model... I agree it seems kind of ridiculous that they would offer premium planes that are not yet complete let alone have a flight model that is representative of what the plane will actually handle like. Case in point is the premium US Zero. It did quite well prior to patch 1.29 when I took it for a test flight so I purchased it. After 1.29 rolls out and I am in the middle of a match I find that the premium US Zero I spent real cash on was not the same plane I thought I had bought.

As far as the 2 against 39... I think you would be surprised just how close it is to the truth. I offer you the following link for your reading. http://ww2db.com/bat...hp?battle_id=57   Now I can save you some reading as there is a part on that page that states...

"22 Dec 1941 33 dive bombers and 6 fighters from carriers Soryu and Hiryu attacked Wake Atoll; during the aerial battle, one of the last two operational F4F Wildcat fighters of Marine Fighter Squadron 211 was shot down, while the other one was badly damaged." Its important to note that of the 12 operational aircraft 7-8 of them were destroyed on the ground before taking off. And as stated above there came a point where there were only two aircraft left.

I felt that the missions overall were fairly decent. It might have been nice if they were a bit more robust allowing you to fly more than just hellcats, wildcats, and SBD's. That said its probably because of the time period but it would have been nice if we got some missions from later in the pacific theater that saw such classic birds like the F4U corsair.

There is no point putting those gift planes in Arcade lineup with reserve/low tiers planes. You are putting yourself in big disadvantage. 

However, premium planes like this are great for Historical Battles mode. Both of them have highest reward bonus.

You can use them for "powerleveling" and lions grinding in HB(12k lions for an enemy kill is very nice).

 

There is unfortunatelly a slight problem(s).

P-38G has horrible flight model and is hardly playable. We were supouse to get new flight model this week, but it hasnt happened yet(fingers crossed).

 

As for A6M5... Japan is not available atm for Historical battles   

 

Campaigns are nothign special. They are short and rewards for them are rather pathetic.

 

 

Is this bundle worth it? Well... yes and no(right not).

 

No, becouse of the problems i mentioned. Its wrong that Gaijin sells a broken product(P-38)

 

Yes, if you look at it from the pure value point. For only 20 $/euro you get month of premium, 1700 lions and 2 high tier premium planes, one of which is very good, second will be "fixed" eventually and 2 campaigns that as i said are nothing special but could be a nice introduction for a new player.

Other 20$ packs give you only 15 days of premium, 1 premium plane and only 300 lions more.
